Elmer W. Lower

Elmer W. Lower was a pioneer network television executive whose career included working for LIFE magazine, CBS News, NBC News, and ABC News. As president of ABC News, Lower hired the likes of Peter Jennings, Sam Donaldson, and Ted Koppel. After leaving ABC News, Lower taught at various universities, including the University of Missouri, where he served as interim dean of the Journalism School.
